Whether you fancy flaking out on the dove-white sands by the back gate or whizzing across the water on a banana boat, the Punta Cana Princess reels off a mighty impressive to-do list.
This place gets the balance bang on when it comes to max chillaxin’ and fun-filled activities to drag you off your lounger. If doing nothing’s your bag, there’s a chunky pool, a swathe of sand and a spa to help you switch off, and when you want to dial things up, there’s a heap of watersports and tournaments to get stuck into.
It’s grown-ups only here, too, so there’s no shouting kids or bawling babies screaming all over the gaff and raising the decibel levels.
Rooms
Punta Cana Princess has a deluxe double room which comes with a King-size bed or 2 double beds, or there’s the Honeymoon double room with a US King-size bed. The Honeymoon room comes with additional luxuries, including a lobster meal at a restaurant of your choice, plus one 20-minute massage – per couple, per week.
Facilities
The Punta Cana Princess has all the must-haves in place, and then some. A big pool, five restaurants, three bars and a snack bar if you’ve booked all inclusive, make up most of the essentials. On top of that, there’s a spa, a gym, a handful of shops and a large line-up of activities.
Pools
The pool’s a huge curvy number with palm tree and lounger-lined terraces, plus a swim-up bar.
Food & Drink
Meals are dished up in five restaurants. The main one’s a buffet affair with a variety of options, while the four à la cartes tick off Italian, Swiss, Mediterranean and Tex-Mex. There’s a snack bar for light bites and between-meal grazing, too.
You can quench your thirst at three bars. One’s a swim-up spot, another’s open 24/7, and the third’s in the lobby. There’s nightly entertainment at the latter one, too.
Entertainment
If you fancy your chances, you can head over to the Avalon Casino a couple of miles down the road. There’s a free shuttle bus to take you there and back.
A gift shop, a mini-market and a chic boutique are all on the agenda in the shopping area.
Sports & Activities
There are loads of watersports to try your hand at, including kayaking, snorkelling and windsurfing. You can even have an introductory scuba diving lesson in the pool, or head out and do it for real in the open sea*. Banana boat rides*, deep sea fishing trips* and glass-bottom boat excursions* are all on the cards, too.
Back on dry land, the list’s just as lengthy. Beach volleyball, archery, petanque, tennis and aerobics classes all make the list. There’s a good choice of organised activities in the pool, too.
Health & Beauty
All the usual suspects are in place at the spa*, with facilities like a saunas, hot tubs and a hydro-massage pool sitting alongside treatments like massages and facials. There’s a gym here, too.
