This former nobleman's residence, brimming with history and a treasure chest of beautiful artworks, was built in 1555 by Don Gilberto Bologni, the Marquis of Marineo, a prominent figure in Sicilian politics at the time. It later became the luxurious home of the Princes of Castelnuovo, who commissioned exquisite frescoes and stucco work by renowned eighteenth-century artists, including the Flemish painter Borremans.
