For more than two centuries, this house was the heart of the family behind EL GRIFO.
Located in Mozaga, just 5 minutes from the winery, it was transformed into a charming accommodation that preserves its historic soul.
Mornings at Hotel El Grifo invite you to start your day at a leisurely pace, with the first rays of sunlight streaming through the large windows of our breakfast room and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. When you stay at our country hotel, breakfast is included every day of your stay. Our breakfast buffet offers a varied selection of freshly cut fruit, cold cuts, local cheeses, homemade jams, and a selection of breads. You can also choose from our menu of hot dishes to find what you love to start your day. And to finish, we can’t forget those sweet treats we all crave.
At our house, starting the day with a delicious breakfast is essential. There’s nothing better than savoring the local flavors while taking in the unique landscape that Lanzarote offers us each morning. A different postcard view every day.
After a day exploring the island, its vineyards, and its roads, your body craves a break… and your palate something memorable. Our restaurant is located in what were once the stables of the house. Today, it’s an intimate, serene dining room, full of character. The culinary offerings and their pairings stem from this same philosophy: cuisine prepared with care, using local produce, rooted in tradition. Dishes that embrace the land but also dare to travel, with nods to the world without losing the soul of Lanzarote.
Each dish on the menu is conceived in dialogue with the wine. Unique wines born from resilient vines, cultivated amidst volcanoes and the trade winds, with an ancestral tradition. We’re talking about EL GRIFO , the oldest winery in the Canary Islands—and part of our family—with over 250 years of history. Dinner at our restaurant isn’t just the end of the day; it’s another way to continue your journey.
Sometimes you don’t need to travel far to truly journey. Simply sitting in the shade of a centuries-old tree, surrounded by volcanic rock, silent cacti, and blooming bougainvillea, is enough to feel that time has finally stood still. The garden of Hotel El Grifo is a meticulously cared-for ecosystem, home to endemic species from Lanzarote and Macaronesia, such as aloes, cardon cacti, veroles, lichens, and dragon trees, among others. It’s a tribute to the vegetation that has grown among the lava, adapted, endured… and flourished.
Here, reading a book, soaking up the island sun, or simply being present and connecting becomes an experience. Without rushing, accompanied by the sounds of nature itself.
