Refillable Mug Program FAQ's

What are refillable mugs?
At the individual Disney resorts there is a refillable mug program that allows unlimited refills for your stay at the resort.

What beverages are available?
The actual beverages may vary slightly from resort to resort. Coffee, iced or hot tea and sodas are available at all of the resorts with this plan. Hot chocolate seems to be another one at most resorts. Juices and milk are not available with the refill mugs.

Where do you get the refills?
Most Disney resorts have a food court or snack bar type restaurant where you can get refills. At the sister resorts, such as the All Stars or the Yacht Club and Beach Club, you can get refills at either.

Can they be used at the parks?
No.

Can they be used on return visits to the same resort they were purchased?
The answer to this varies. Some guests are told they are good for return visits while others are told they are good only for the stay they are purchased. Regardless, they are good for the entire length of your stay at your particular resort.

Can they be used at other resorts than the one where they are purchased?
This too the answer varies. Some say they had no problems using the mug at other resorts, while others say they weren't allowed or were charged for the refill.

What do they look like?
Most are the insulated type that is themed with Disney characters to the resort you are staying at. Colors of lids/handles vary, making it easy to identify each member of your party's mug.

Where do you buy them?
Most are available for purchase at the resort food courts or snack restaurants.

At some resorts, the mugs are in the rooms. These aren't free. They're considered a part of room service and you will probably be charged a gratuity in addition to the normal price. Buy them in the respective food areas to avoid the extra charge.

Are they a good value?
I think this will vary according to what use you will have for them. If you or your family aren't big soda or coffee drinkers it may not be. Figure out how much you may drink on your visit and go from there. At least in the end you will have a souvenir from your stay that is comparable in price to other Disney merchandise.

How big are they?
Most hold 16 ounces.

How much do they cost?
Currently the cost is $12.99 (plus tax) per mug. That sounds like a lot, but they can quickly pay for themselves with just a few of those free refills.
