Internet Access on Property

This Article Was Contributed by Keith

Many of us bring our laptops to WDW so we can keep in touch with our friends through e-mail, make use of the internet to get information or make on-line bookings or review the day's pictures from your digital camera's SD card or media stick.

All Disney's hotels have hard-wired hi-speed internet access that is available, at time of writing, for a daily, 24-hour charge of $9.95. If you pay up at 6:00 p.m., your access is good until 5:59 p.m. the next day. Disney has Tech Support staff on-site that can help the technically challenged among us that have difficulty synching-up. In the writer's opinion, considering that you are paying probably between $100 to $500 a night for a Moderate through Concierge Deluxe room, that's an unnecessary gouge.

There are also Wi-Fi spots scattered throughout the lobby areas of the "convention" hotels for, at the time of writing, a charge of $4.99 per hour and $9.99 per 24-hour period.

The "convention" hotels are: Beach Club, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian and the Yacht Club.

If you venture off-site Panera Bread, Starbucks and several other coffee spots have free Wi-Fi access.

Thanks to Goofyme and Justafigment for the following additions:

Fee: $4.99 for the first 60 minutes or $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours. The vendor that provides this Wi-Fi service, Smart City, will bill you using a secure credit card/room key transaction via the on-screen internet connection.

Disney Vacation Club Members have free wired broadband internet access when staying in a Disney Vacation Club Resort on points.

A Local Area Network (LAN) cable, or in-room connection can be found in the closet or drawer of your resort room.
