Walt Disney World Smoking Policy
January 30, 2000 Walt Disney World began a smoking policy within their theme parks. Throughout the theme parks there are now designated smoking areas. It is absolutely forbidden, and this is enforced, for smokers to meander along with a cigarette in hand. Most smokers who get caught up in this issue are usually very pleasant and understanding and do extinguish their cigarettes. Arguing the issue is definitely a "no-win" situation and you will be asked to leave the park.
There are many, actually very many, designated smoking areas in all the parks. You will find the smoking areas clearly marked on all of the theme park guidemaps. Smoking is permitted in these areas only! If you are a smoker please show courtesy to fellow park guests by following this policy. If you have trouble finding a specific area be sure to ask a Cast Member for help.
Smoking at the water parks, Disney's Wide World of Sports, golf courses, and miniature golf courses has also been restricted to designated outdoor areas.
RESORT SMOKING POLICY
As of July 1, 2007 all Walt Disney World resorts are non-smoking. There are no longer smoking rooms anywhere on property. Smoking in the rooms, the bathrooms or on the patios or balconies is very much frowned on and can result in a significant charge to the guests room account to clean, shampoo and "de-smoke" the room which includes the charge for taking the room out of service for that function.
As with the theme parks, there are designated smoking areas in every resort. Smoking areas are clearly marked on each resorts map. If there are any questions or concerns they can be addressed at the front desk of the resort.
All restaurants at WDW are smoke free.
You cannot smoke on any WDW transportation medium.
For those wishing to purchase cigarettes at WDW you will not find them on display, they must be requested. They are sold at the resort gift shops and Sosa Family Cigars in West Side at Downtown Disney. Please note that you may find the prices much higher than what you would be paying at home. A tip for smokers -- bring along enough cigarettes from home to last the duration of your trip!
