How to Make Your Walt Disney World Countdown Chain

This Article Was Contributed by Lisa

Half of the fun of making the countdown chain is counting down the days till your trip to WDW, but the other half, is making it with your children!

Start with several pieces of different colored construction paper, cut into 1-inch strips. If you make this chain 30 days before you leave, you will need 30 strips. On each strip have your child(ren) write the name of a favorite WDW character. Coming up with 30 different names can be quite interesting! Staple all the strips to form a chain. On the top, be creative and make any kind of chain topper you want. We usually cut out a silhouette of Mickey's head, and decorate it with some stickers, and the words "We're going to Disney World". Each night after dinner, my daughters take a link off the chain. And when they ask the constant and inevitable question "How many more days until Disney World", I tell them to go count their chain.
