Driving Directions Within Florida
There's no need to get nervous if you're traveling by car, it's easy to find Walt Disney World. It's almost impossible to get lost if you follow the many billboard signs scattered along the roadway. If you're traveling on I-95 from the north you'll start seeing images of Mickey as early as North Carolina. The Walt Disney World Resort is located southwest of Orlando, off Interstate 4, west of the Florida Turnpike.
Motorists traveling on Interstate 95, U.S. Highway 1 or southbound on the Turnpike, need to take Interstate 4 West to get to Walt Disney World exits.
Motorists traveling south on Interstate 75 need to take the Turnpike south to Interstate 4 west to Walt Disney World exits.
Motorists traveling northbound on the Florida Turnpike should use the Kissimmee-St. Cloud interchange, which connects with U.S. Highway 192 and the Walt Disney World Resort.

Additional Driving Tips
- Buckle up! Florida law does require that you wear a seatbelt.
- State law requires the use of headlights in the rain.
- You can turn right on red, unless signs say otherwise.
- They're not kidding, posted speed limits are enforced!
- In an emergency you can reach the Florida Highway Patrol on a cell phone by dialing *FHP.
- You must have a Florida handicap permit to park in handicap parking areas. Permits from other states are honored, but a disabled license plate alone won't do.
- Be alert to slippery road conditions when it rains (aka Florida ice).
- Remember to allow for rush hour traffic between 7-9am and 4-6pm on weekdays. In addition to the thousands of people heading to the theme parks, many local residents are going to be heading to work also. To avoid disappointments be sure to factor in any possible delays into your time schedule.
