Attendance Levels, How Big Are the Crowds?

It's safe to say that Walt Disney World is becoming the vacation destination of choice for many families, couples, and singles alike. The first, and most important, decision to make regarding your trip is when to go.

It would be ideal if you could plan on vacationing when the crowds are at a minimum. But chances are that's not always an option for most. If you have school aged children you'd probably like to go sometime during one of the school vacations or holidays... Or maybe your job doesn't allow you to take your vacation during certain seasons... Or maybe you have to make your plans around someone else's schedule. Even if you have to go when the crowds are a little heavier, the lines a little longer, you'll still be right in the middle of the magic.

To give you an idea of what to expect in advance you can use the guidelines below to see how busy the parks might be when you get there. Keep in mind this is a guide only!

Semi-Private Attendance:

  • January (with exception to New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' week in February
  • Week following Labor Day until week prior to Thanksgiving
  • Week following Thanksgiving until mid-December
Moderate Attendance:
  • After Presidents' week in February through early March
  • Late April through early June (with exception to Memorial Day weekend)
  • First part of Thanksgiving week
Elbow-to-Elbow Attendance:
  • Presidents' week in February
  • Mid March through late April ("Spring Break")
  • Memorial Day weekend
  • Mid June through Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and week-end
  • Christmas week through New Year's Day
