You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... 'The Twilight Zone'...

Hollywood, 1939. Amid the glitz and the glitter of a bustling, young movie town at the height of its golden age, The Hollywood Tower Hotel was a star in its own right; a beacon for the show business elite. Now, something is about to happen that will change all that...

The time is now on an evening very much like the one we have just witnessed. Tonight's story on "The Twilight Zone" is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This as you may recognize is a maintenance service elevator, still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you, if you dare, to step aboard because in tonight's episode you are the star, and this elevator travels directly to... 'The Twilight Zone'...

You are the passengers on a most uncommon elevator, about to ascend into your very own episode of... 'The Twilight Zone'...

One stormy night long ago, five people stepped through the door of an elevator and into a nightmare. That door is opening once again, and this time it's opening for you...

'The Twilight Zone'...

Anyone getting off at the 13th floor? You’ll want to say NO! if you are on one of the most heart stopping, stomach losing rides at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This thrilling ride takes Studio’s park guests up an elevator in the infamous "Hollywood Hotel" and then in a heart-racing series of plunges, drops you at free-fall speed, making this one of the most popular rides in Walt Disney World.

Ride engineers tested 33 versions of Tower of Terror to come up with the most gut-wrenching thrill, and added some awesome special effects. Together, these, along with some great Cast Members who operate the ride, only add to the atmosphere, all making for one GREAT thrill ride.

The terrifying ascent begins when hotel guests board an old freight elevator that ascends slowly past eerie hotel hallways, where ghostly lost guests roam around. As the ride progresses, there’s no turning back as the elevator-cage passes through the Fifth Dimension to enter a pitch-black shaft, and riders embark on a unforgettable journey.

The drop sequence launches guests skyward, seemingly, with a mind of its own. Hold on tight, when the elevator’s cables 'snap' and electrical sparks 'spark' your nerves. Enjoy the view from 13 stories up as the elevator door opens to reveal the Disney-MGM Studios grounds below you! The decrepit vehicle then free-falls 13 stories, faster than the force of gravity, leaving your stomach behind. Be prepared to launch upward again, only to fall again and again until the frightening finale.

This is a must do ride for all thrill seekers! And for your riding pleasure, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a FastPass ride, enabling you to get more ride into your day. In addition, the Baby Swap option is available for adults toting around small children.

Must be at least 40 inches (102 cm) tall to ride. For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride.
