Attraction Height & Age Restrictions

You've been planning your family vacation forever it seems. The time has finally arrived; you're standing in line to ride that ride the kids have talked about for months. The anticipation has peaked an all time high. Then a Cast Member stops you and tells you a member of your party cannot go any further because they are not tall enough. How disappointing! To avoid this disappointment know what attractions your children are tall enough to go on before you get there.

For safety and comfort, you should be in good health and free from heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride. Young children should be accompanied by an adult.

It's also important to keep in mind that although some rides do not have height and/or age restrictions they may still be a little frightening. Parents should caution younger children to the scarier elements. Some attractions may use strobe lights as special effects, whereas others may have high volumes that could cause discomfort for those with sensitive hearing. Note that children under 7 should be accompanied on most attractions. Below is a list of some rides that may be a little scary for some kids.

Magic Kingdom:
     Haunted Mansion
     Pirates of the Caribbean
     Snow White's Adventures

Epcot:
     Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
     Journey Into Your Imagination
     Maelstrom

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
     Catastrophe Canyon
     Fantasmic!

Disney's Animal Kingdom:
     It's A Bug's Life

Be sure to read the signs at the entrance of the attractions. If you're unsure about something in particular, ask the Cast Member at the entrance. Part of their job is to help answer your questions. Also, as a reminder, there is a child swap option available if some members of your party do not meet the requirements of the ride/attraction.
