Extra Magic Hours (EMH)

So, what are Extra Magic Hours and how do I get some? Extra Magic Hours (EMH) are quite simply put an "extra" for guests staying in all Disney Resort Hotels including the Swan and Dolphin and the Shades of Green and the Hilton in the Downtown Disney Resort Area. They offer an extra hour in the morning prior to the published opening time for the park and an extra three hours at night after the scheduled closing time for that particular park.

Note that there is only one park offering this EMH advantage on any particular day and that there is not a specific policy on whether any of the parks will offer EMH or, if they do, in what order or under which schedule they will do so as they used to do with Early Entry.

Non Disney Resort Hotel guests may not enter the parks in the morning with the EMH participants and must wait for the scheduled rope-drop time but they can stay for the three EMHs at the end of the day. However the non-EMH guests cannot ride or enjoy any of the attractions. They may eat in the restaurants and can, of course, shop until their hearts content but they can't ride anything.

How do the Disney CMs tell who is who in the evening? If you are already inside the park, Disney Resort Guests will need to present their Key to the World card (resort ID) for accessing evening Extra Magic Hours attractions. Please note that each member of your group will need to present their Key to the World card. If you are arriving after EMH has started, you MUST present a valid Key to the World Card at the park's turnstiles.

EMH participation in a park might seriously impact crowd levels that day. Some folks will make a beeline for that park whereas others will shy away from it to take advantage of a non-EMH park which may have perceived less crowds.
