Kali River Rapids
Location: Asia
One might think that going on a 12-person raft ride in the middle of Disney World's Animal Kingdom Park, with the possibility of getting slightly wet, will be a thoroughly adventurous trek down the waters of the Chakarandi River. While it is true that you certainly will go on an adventure, and it will be on the Chakarandi River; the only thing that may surprise you is that you will not get slightly wet, you will get VERY wet! You may even say you will get soaked!
Your adventure begins in the rustic offices of Kali River Rapids Expeditions, a well-known Asian river rafting company. As you make your way through the winding queue you will be able to enjoy a number of artifacts actually brought here from exotic Asia, so be sure to pay close attention as you wind your way through. As you get closer to the area where you will embark on your 12-man raft you will walk onto a large rotating disc which moves at the same speed as the rafts. Grab a seat, secure yourself in, and get ready for the ride of your life!
Your adventure begins smoothly enough through a breathtakingly beautiful bamboo tunnel. You sail through the jasmine-scented mist and the remnants of an ancient temple shrine. As you wind your way through the enchanting rainforest, down the lazy river, you suddenly encounter a sweeping waterfall. The serenity does not last however, as you begin to smell the aroma of pungent, burning wood. As you make your way down the endless river you come across an area of illegal logging, and a gutted, destroyed area of once pristine rainforest. The danger then suddenly becomes very apparent as your raft encounters an area of the debris laden river, choked with tangled web of burning logs. Narrowly avoiding disaster your raft makes it way through the twist, turns, and sprays of the mighty and turbulent Chakarandi. This is where your raft ultimately, and abruptly, enters a drop into the white foam of the churning waters, complete with a thorough soaking for most of those aboard!
Slowly but surely you are returned safely to the dock at the Kali River Rapids Expedition Offices, a bit more wet than when you embarked, but surely ready to take another ride, down the mighty Chakarandi River.
Please keep in mind, that Kali River Rapids is a FastPass ride, and does have a height requirement of 38 inches or taller. And as stated in the review, you have a high chance of getting soaked on this ride. A swimsuit, a change of clothes, or a poncho would not be inappropriate to wear for this ride.
