Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama

Let's take a look at one of Disney's adventures, in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, called Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama. Billed as a "mini-land", adjacent to DinoLand USA, this carnival type land features a midway, complete with games and rides. It was introduced in 3 sections, to the delight of park hoppers everywhere. The Midway and TriceraTop Spin opened in 2001, while Primeval Whirl made its debut in spring of 2002.

Perhaps you are familiar with the namesake's of this new attraction, that's because Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is also home to Chester and Hester's Dinosaur Treasures, a dinosaur themed gift shop in DinoLand USA which features many souvenirs related to the DINOSAUR thrill ride. These two wacky dino's have now moved upward and onward, from stocking shelves and racks in their pre-historic gift shop, to coaster rides and arcade games at their corny carnival.

In Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama you will be immersed in the carnival type atmosphere, play everything from Ringosaurus to tossing beanbags into dinosaur jaws. You will also find a half dozen brightly colored arcade games lining the midway, a 50-foot tall concreteasaurus.

The highlights of the area are two rides, TriceraTop Spin and Primeval Whirl.

TriceraTop Spin, a children's ride, is a hub-and-spoke style attraction. Guests ride in one of 16, 4-person vehicles which move up, down and around in a ride that magically becomes a giant spinning toy top. The top rises to reveal -- what else? -- a dinosaur! 

Primeval Whirl, a family ride, is a coaster with 13 rider-controlled spinning cars. These homemade time machines, straight from the Chester and Hester's drawing board, will take you on a wacky, whimsical run, sending all riders through curves, short drops and the jaws of a dinosaur.
